JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Satupena Indonesian Writers Association, Denny Januar Ali or who is familiarly called Denny JA, opened a Poem Parade at Tebet Eco Park, South Jakarta, by inviting the public to use the city park as a cultural development arena, one of which is through poetry.

"This is a tradition that we need to revive. We return the park to its origin, as a cultural node," said Denny in an official broadcast received by Antara on Sunday (12/3).

According to him, cultural issues are too big if they are only left to the government so that people are expected to be able to liven up their own culture, one of which is through the use of city parks.

"We want Indonesia to not only progress in terms of trade and politics, but also progress in terms of culture," he explained.

In addition to building culture, the use of city parks with literary activities is also expected to increase the literacy level of people in urban areas.

"We call on all those who care, from Aceh to Papua. Together we will warm up city parks with poetry, literature, and culture," he said.

At the event attended by the Chairman of Satupena DKI, Nia Samsihono and the administrator of Satupena DKI Nita CH, Denny read his own poem entitled "Mother, Is There TikTok in Heaven?", followed by a poem from other literary activists.
