As A Victim Of Domestic Violence, Sarah, Rizal Djibran's Wife, Asks For Protection From Komnas Perempuan

JAKARTA - In the aftermath of acts of Domestic Violence (KDRT) experienced during marriage to Rizal Djibran, Sarah came to visit the Komnas Perempuan office.

Sarah's arrival aims to seek protection assistance from Komnas Perempuan, after she officially reported her husband, Rizal Djibran, to the Polda Metro Jaya some time ago.

"As a woman, my client, Sarah, came to Komnas Perempuan today. At least she wants to ask Komnas Perempuan for help," said Tris Harijanto to the media crew at the Komnas Perempuan office, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Tris said that he fully supports the steps taken by Sarah. He hopes that Komnas Perempuan can oversee the domestic violence problem faced by his client.

"Because after all, Komnas Perempuan is an independent institution that of course defends women's rights, especially my client, Sarah, is a woman, of course needs protection. She needs an escort regarding this problem (KDRT), so that it is as Sarah hopes, so that this problem remains on track," said Tris.

For information, Sarah last visited Polda Metro Jaya on February 21, 2023 yesterday. During the surprise examination, Sarah had submitted medical evidence of injuries to her hands and feet due to alleged acts of domestic violence committed by Rizal Djibran.

Sarah's attorney also hopes that her client's husband will receive appropriate punishment. "My client hopes that RD will be punished as much as possible in accordance with applicable law," he said.
