JAKARTA - In a new interview with Sam Wall, guitaristohn Roth spoke about Winger's newly recorded seventh studio album.

"This (Album) will be released by Frontiers [Music Srl] in May or June; we don't have a release date yet. [There are] 12 songs on the album. One song is a pretty big surprise," he said.

"At least for me, there is always a song on the Winger album that comes from the left," he explained. "Like at Karma, we made the blues song Kip [Winger, frontman Winger] and I co-wrote a song called After All This Time," he continued.

In the Better Days Comin' title track, said Roth, Winger tries to get out of his comfort zone by making a rather dramatic composition. This is certainly different from most of Winger's songs that are heavier, darker, and metal-ish.

"This album is produced and recorded carefully, [with] many vocal layers of background," he added. "Maybe it's heavier lyrically, maybe. All Winger albums have a heavier tone, because the guitar is low-tuned; it's just more aggressive. And there's a bit of a progressive touch in one of the songs. But I think people will really enjoy this album. Hopefully it's well accepted."

Roth also talked in more detail about the Winger songwriting process by saying that Kip Winger and Reb Beach are the band's lead songwriters.

"I only wrote one song with Kip (Winger)," concluded Roth.
