JAKARTA - Former Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe released a video for his latest high-octane song and solo album title track, I Live Too Fast To Die Young, via his official YouTube channel.
I Live Too Fast To Die Young, which was released via Silver Lining Music, is a type of Monroe classic album, plays with words and concepts in a very disrespectful way and wraps everything up with rock 'n' rolls.
"This song refers to Michael's seemingly unlimited energy and the fact that he is still 'crazy' after all these years," guitarist Rich Jones explained.
"The whole clich 'life fast, death young' is so boring, so I live too fast to die young! It takes more to survive and be here today than to destroy myself and die young!" Monroe laughed.
Meanwhile, Monroe's close friend Slash of Guns N 'Roses contributed the main guitar fillings into this track.
"Slash is one of the best people I know and one of the greatest rock guitarists because he maintains spontaneity, human touch, and sincere kicking attitude in his game," Monroe was enthusiastic.
"I thought it would be great for him to play solo, he said he liked the song and it was very interesting."
"Having Slash playing a really cool guitar solo is an honor and has since been a fan favorite on our live show," added Jones.
Recorded at Inkfish Studios in Helsinki, Finland between November and December 2021 and produced by a band with engineer Erno Laitinen, the album features Monroe on lead vocals and harmonics, Steve Conte (guitar and vocals), Rich Jones (guitar, vocals), Karkal Rockfist (drums) and Sami Yaffa (bass/vocals/guitar).
