JAKARTA - Thrash metal giant Metallica has teamed up again with director Tim Saccenti, launching the official music video for a new song called Screaming Suicide.

The song is taken from James Hetfield et al's 12th studio album, 72 Seasons, which will be released on April 14 through Blackened Recording.

Produced by Greg Fidelman alongside Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, the over 77-minute, 12-track 72 Seasons is Metallica's first collection of new material since Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (2016).

"We're back with another taste of 72 Seasons, a new album out April 14th. Screaming Suicide, our second track release, is now available for streaming and download and as instant gratification with all album pre-orders," Hetfield said in an official statement.

The frontman added, Screaming Suicide discusses the taboo word 'suicide'. Its purpose is to communicate the darkness that is felt within us.

"It's ridiculous to think we have to deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about them. To deal with them is to speak of the unspoken. If it is the human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone," Hetfield parsed.

Regarding the music video for Screaming Suicide, Metallica stated: "We first worked with Tim on the song Lux Aeterna and were so blown away that we asked him to come back to work on a second song."
