JAKARTA - Kinder Bloomen is the third band after Voice Of Baceprot and Guernica Club to enter the list of NMEs 100 two weeks ago.

This is a list of 100 newcomer artists who are predicted to conquer 2023 versions of British popular music magazine New Musical Express, which was released earlier this month.

In the list, Kinder Blooman, Voice Of Baceprot, and Guernica Club are side by side with international names such as the England FLO triopop, US Grammy nominee GloRilla, and punk Panic SHAck quartet.

For those of you who don't know Kinder Bloomen. The band was formed in Jakarta in 2017, taking their name from the song Real Estate, Coder Blumen, which they later found out, was how some German people referred to her.

The band fronted by Danang Joewono (vocals), Raka Soetrisno (traject, vocal background), Ridzky Imam (guitar), Ikhsan Fadillah (bass), Luki Indra Malik (drums), and Defa (keyboards, percussion, vocals) played their first show of the same year and began releasing singles on digital platforms such as Bandcamp, culminating in the presence of the first EP Progression I which was released on its own in 2020.

At that time, Kinder Bloomen had combined the influence variant that resided in its personnel into an interesting unit. Led Zeppelin and The Beatles included Ridzky's guitarist in the music, while Luki, who played the drums because of Blink-182, finally embraced the band Turnover and Palace as an eternal inspiration.

As for Raka, making Sigur R stays, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Kamasi Washington and Mahavishnu Orchestra as the influence of his trumpet game. However, as the background vocalist, he and other singers in the band are trying to emulate the layers of harmony of The Beatles, Fleet Foxes, New York target, and French vocal ensemble Voice Messengers.

The band had an unforgettable time as it tried to incorporate all those influences into Progress I.

Producing Progression I is a great experience, Raka recalls. Years of jamming were compiled into three songs that we felt represented our position at the time. Each live session was different and made us finally decide which version of the song we wanted to record, even to the mixing process.

In his description, NME describes Kinder Bloomen as a confusing psychedelic rock band mixed with complicated jazz sounds. Midfielder Bloomen is also said to be highly recommended for fans of King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and Kamasi Washington.

"The extraordinary vocals, complicated rhythms, beautiful fine fur, and blues trumpets are just the tip of the iceberg for the six-member Kinder Bloomen. Inspired by people like Washington's Chief of Staff, Led Zeppelin, Sigur R likelihoods and many more, this band with experts attracts the best elements of their heroes to make their own unique sounds," wrote NME.
