Djent Bukan Genre, Periphery Rilis 2 Single Sekaligus

JAKARTA - Periphery officially announced their fifth album (and the seventh overall album), Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre.

The follow-up to Periphery IV: Hail Stan (2019) will be released on March 10 through their own label, 3 DOT Recordings.

As most of their recordings, the album was self-produced by Periphery; in a statement, guitarist Mark Holcomb said of the effort.

We spend more time on Periphery V than in any other release in our history. We challenge and push ourselves harder, and along the way we get closer as a band," Holcomb was quoted as saying by NME, Monday.

Coinciding with the news, Periphery has shared two singles at once from the album Tersebu, namely Wildfire (which features solo saxophones from Norwegian musicians J wayurgen Munkeby) and Zagerus.

We are very proud of the final result! I would also like to thank the fans for being so patient waiting for this recording. We would like to show our appreciation by giving you two songs today, not one. We have very busy 2023 and 2024 plans so we will meet you on the street!"

Meanwhile, another Periphery guitarist, Misha Bulb Mansor, added that she was very proud of the material in her band's new album. He said, this is hard work of love and albums that are difficult to make.

"The feeling that we have to give up is because it continues to take so long sometimes so extraordinary, so it's not just overcoming it, but feeling very proud of this album has really galvanized us as a band in a way I don't think there are other experiences I can have," said Mansor.
