JAKARTA - Robbie Bachman, drummer and co-founder of a Canadian rock band, ticket-Turner Overdrive (BTO), died at the age of 69.

Going down to Twitter to announce the news, his brother and bandmate Randy Bachman wrote:

Sad departure again. Taping behind BTO, my sister Robbie has joined Mother, Father & brother Gary on the other side.

Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He is an integral driving wheel in our 'n' roll rock engine and we are shaking the world together."

Robbie founded the band with Randy, their brother Tim Bachman and bassist Fred Turner in Winavileg, Canada in the early 1970s. They released their self-titled debut album and follow-up, ticket-Turner Overdrive II, both in 1973.

After their third album, Not Fragile (1974) featured their biggest hit - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet - Randy finally left the band in 1977.

BTO continued with new vocalist Jim Clench, before disbanding in 1980.

Randy then came back to unite the band in 1983, where Robbie did not take part in the reunion.

Their 1984 album, ticket-Turner Overdrive was the only full album in their career that didn't feature Robbie on the drums.

Robbie then returned to the band from 1988 to 2005, but did not appear in the next reunion in 2009.

Robbie's last appearance with the band came in 2014 when they were sworn in at the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame.
