JAKARTA - Last October, Italian heavy rocker Lacuna Coil released Comales XX, a new version of their third studio album Comalies released two decades ago.

Comalies was released in 2002. This classic album is filled with a line of songs that make Lacuna Coil a legendary band.

Now, twenty years later, Lacuna Coil's line-up currently decides to review the songs. Not only re-recorded as before, but also deconstructed and transported it to 2022.

When asked in a recent interview with Australia's Heavy why Lacuna Coil decided to rework the Comalies, this ispany Scabbia's vocalist.

"The main reason is, this is the twentyth anniversary of the Comalies album. And we don't just want to remaster or repackage, because this is a very meaningful album. This is an album that makes us level up in this realm, which allows us to make music a full-time job."

"And we love the songs. So we started asking ourselves, how does it sound like we're writing it in 2022? And the idea is starting to develop and get more interesting. [And we thought] why don't we do it?"

By the time they started writing songs again after the pandemic (due to the pandemic it really didn't creative at a certain point) - continuedlinia, they didn't want any music to be associated with the pandemic because it was a very negative period.

"So we started working on the songs in Comalies, and those songs sound really good, because, of course, yes, they come from old songs, from the core of old songs, but sound really fresh, like we're writing new recordings," he explained.

"And it's cool now that a lot of fans are confused because they don't know anymore if they prefer the original version or this version. That's a good sign."

cca added that reworking the Comalies album was really stressful. Because when we write a new album, people don't know the song. That is, people may like it and some may not. It's normal.

"(But) when you take out something made of something in a new version, it's always very challenging. It's stressful. But we're happy - we're really happy," concludedpanto.
