JAKARTA - After the success of the film KKN di Penari which aired on April 30, 2022, MD Pictures released an extended version with the title KKN in Penari Luwih Village, Dowo Luwih Medeni, which premiered on December 29 in Indonesian cinemas.

Awi Suryadi as the director said that this version was presented to readers of the thread from SimpleMan. "This is our offering for lovers and followers of SimpleMan's threads, because they know the details of the story. For this version, because there are so many requests from fans, yes what they ask us to try to give," said Awi Suryadi in a press conference in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 28.

As previously known, the story in the KKN film in Penari Village is an adaptation of a thread that was created by the SimpleMan account on Twitter in 2019. Because of the popularity of the thread, the story was finally brought up into a film.

The first version of the KKN film in Penari Village had received many comments from SimpleMan readers who were not satisfied. They feel that many events are quite important not to show, so they have the impression that there are many plot holes from the broadcast.

Awi himself revealed that he was more satisfied with the results that would be displayed in the extended version this time. "This version is actually a closer version of what I want and SimpleMan means," he said.

In this extended version, the film's release time will be 40 minutes longer than the previous version. Most of the scenes are snippets from the shooting process that had previously been done but did not air. In addition, there are also several new scenes that have been screened specifically for KKN in Penari Luwih Village, Dowo Luwih Medeni.

Producer Manoj Punjabi hopes that this film will be successful again like the previous version which managed to break the record by presenting 9.2 million viewers. With confidence, Manoj said that he was willing to compete with other films. "We are ready to compete for a Hollywood film or whatever. What I want is how Indonesian films can host their own country, and this year we have proven that," he said.

Although 75 percent of what was shown has aired in the previous version, Manoj considers the KKN in Penari Luwih Village Dowo Luwih Medeni as a new work. I feel the results are rich looking at the new film, because the scene behind it. Look at the excitement of my audience is also very optimistic," he concluded.
