JAKARTA - The Shadow and Bone Season 2 series will air on March 16, 2023 on Netflix. This series is an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo's best-selling novel with the main character of an orphaned soldier named Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li) whose extraordinary strength usually appears when the Shadow Fold begins to threaten. The series, which includes eight episodes, follows Alina Starkov who is in pursuit. Viewed as a symbol of hope and a suspected traitor by a number of other people, Alina is determined to undermine the Shadow Fold and save the Ravka area. But General Kirigan is becoming an increasingly terrible threat along with a new force in the form of a shadow monster that cannot be destroyed and a number of new Grisha troops. To stem the strength of Kirigan, Alina and Mal unite their allies and start a journey across the continent to find two mythical creatures that can multiply their power. Co-showrunner and executive/author producer Eric Heisserer expressed their joy at continuing the stories of the characters from season one. “ Some have to face the consequences of their actions and there are also various new meetings. Grisha people also experienced developments, both mythology and character, and there were also a number of new locations such as Novyi Zem and Shu Han,” he was quoted as saying in an official statement, Thursday. Meanwhile, Leigh Bardugo, who is also the executive producer of this series, said, “ There are many amazing new characters. They will interact with each other and fight. The storyline is never in the book and I think readers will be surprised that there is a meeting of stories that cannot be revealed.” The series stars Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej Ghaza), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik), Daisy Head (Genya Safin), Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar), Lewis Tan (Tolya Yul-Bataar), Anna Leong Brophy (Tamar Kir-Bataar), Jack Wolfe (Wylan Hendriks), Patrick Gibson (Nikolai Lantsov), and Ben Barnes (General Kirigan). This new season will bring a continuation of the story from the previous season which focuses on friendship, new romance, increasingly fierce fights and adventures, as well as a family secret that can destroy everything.
