Boss Level Film Review: Fun Time-Loop Concept

JAKARTA - The concept of time loops is never boring to develop in films. It is proven that a number of films with the concept of time loops have fun dishes, one of which is the Boss Level film. The film directed by Joe Carnahan has been circulating in 2021. However, for Indonesia, Boss Level can only be enjoyed in Indonesian cinemas. Boss Level tells the story of Roy Pulver (Frank Grillo) a former soldier in Atlanta who gets caught in a time loop. Every day, he wakes up at 07.00 a.m. and confronts a group of gunmen who try to attack his apartment. Roy Pullver managed to escape from his apartment before exploding to face a group of armed forces chasing him in a car. He only lasted until 12:47 where the armed group united and attacked him. One day, he begins to guess where the start of the time loop started. The day before the time loop, Roy met Jemma (Naomi Watts) who worked in a lab. Roy and Jemma meet again and find out where it came from. Jemma also gave Roy information and it became their last meeting. Armed with information from Jemma, Roy began completing a mission to get out of the time loop. Without babibu, Boss Level combines the concept of time loops with action. The flow is neat even though the concept of time loops is a densely enjoyable repetition. Frank Grillo also presented various moments of play that often made the audience laugh. Roy Pulver's character also has his own struggle and reflection which is close to the current picture of the family. Not to mention the characters that appear in this film are strange but unique. Michelle Yeoh for example. He plays Dai Feng, a sword expert known as the 12 times World Champion. Despite being present haphazardly, Dai Feng turned out to be an extraordinary supporting character. Then there's Mel Gibson, football athlete Robert Gronkowksi, Miss Lebanese Valerie Abou Chacra, former Quinton wrestler Jackson and Rahad Evans. Towards the end, it is necessary to admit that Boss Level is getting weaker in storytelling. However, that does not reduce the excitement of the film that has been running for almost two hours.
