JAKARTA - Taylor Swift's new album, Midnights, became the first album to record a million units sold in the past five years. The last album that managed to score was Reputation in 2017, which is none other than Swift's.

In addition, Midnights achieved this feat in just the first three days in the market. According to Lumate's report, the album sold 1.2 million units in all formats, including digital and CD over the weekend of 21-23 October.

These physical sales are rare. Not only that, in the first three days, the album garnered more than 284 million streams, including audio and video simultaneously.

Quoted from Variety, Tuesday, October 25, Billboard also reported on Saturday, October 22 that in just one day Midnights had recorded major sales for disks since 1991.

One of the factors that made Midnights get big sales was because there was a long gap between previous albums such as Folklore and Evermore which were released in 2020.

Swift's latest blacklist album can be obtained in various stores as well as for web bookings. Many fans buy in several editions, because Swift offers it with five different LPs, four of which are with different covers and color variants. Plus a separate Target issue, and a different cover color.

The CD edition is also available with four different covers and artworks so that Swift fans are competing to collect them as a collection.

However, this week's streaming record was held by Bad Bunny with Un Verano Sin Ti who won 356.55 million in his debut week. However, Midnights still has a chance to surpass it.
