Jared Leto Will Be Karl Lagerfeld's Role In Biopic Film

JAKARTA - Actor Jared Leto will play Karl Lagerfeld in the fashion designer biopic. Karl Lagerfeld is an artistic director for the Chanel brand.

As a producer, Jared Leto is also trying to present stories in his 50-year career in the fashion industry that Karl Lagerfeld is experiencing.

Karl has a career of 50 years and personally and professionally he is very close to many people. We think we will explore relationships that show a lot about his life," Jared Leto said in a statement.

Leto collaborated with some of Karl Lagerfeld's closest people in working on the film. Among them is Pier Paolo Righi, executive Karl Lagerfeld since 2011.

Then there is Caroline Lebar as SVP Lagerfeld and Sébastien Jondeau as Karl Lagerfeld's personal assistant.

Karl has always been an inspiration to me. He is a polymatic person, an artist, innovator, leader, and most importantly a good man," said Jared Leto.

"When we worked with team Karl Lagerfeld, we shared a creative vision that respects Karl as driving how artistic biopics are," he continued.

Karl Lagerfeld's side revealed that there are already many Hollywood producers who want to make films about the icon. But through communication, they find Jared Leto a suitable partner for this project.

Jared Leto also worked with Emma Ludbrook for this film. On the other hand, they have not announced who the director and writer who worked on the film Karl Lagerfeld.
