JAKARTA - Nasyla Mirdad plays a pregnant woman in the movie Inang (host). In Inang, it describes one of the rituals in Java, namely Rebo Wekasan, or the last Wednesday in the month of Sapar on the Hijri Calendar. This is still related to the phenomenon of pregnant women that Fajar saw on the KRL, then added his experience as a Javanese which is thick with the tradition of celebration.

"I've always been close to a lot of celebrations, I'm Javanese. A lot of celebration events. It stuck until I grew up. When I saw that lady, I thought that we who weren't born on an unlucky day would need celebration so we are safe," said Fajar, as quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, October 6th.

For Fajar, the host in this film is none other than a parent who wants to do the best for loved ones as well as parents.

"We don't know what they did, the worst thing they did so we could be in good health," he said.

The movie Inang is scheduled to be screened in all cinemas in Indonesia on October 13, 2022. The film also stars Lydia Kandou, Dimas Anggara, Rukman Rosadi, Rania Putrisari, Totos Rasiti, Pritt Timothy, Emil Kusumo, and others.

Naysila Mirdad admitted that the script reading session helped her explore the character as Wulan, the figure of a pregnant woman in the new horror thriller film, Inang.

"Definitely not separated from reading at the beginning, character deepening at the beginning. I discussed a lot with Mr. Fajar, assisted by our acting coach, Mr. Rosa," she said.

In Inang, Naysila has to collide with her mother, Lydia Kandou. She admitted to discussing and staying away while filming from Lydia so as not to seem like mother and daughter as in real life.

"Talk to mom about how to not be like a child and mother. Even though every time I take it I stick with mom. But when I take it I have to remember we are not mom and daughter," she said.

Inang became the first big screen work that Naysila starred in. She said that she had wanted to participate in the film for a long time and it was only now possible.

On that occasion, Lydia Kandou revealed that the experience of shooting for 21 days was so much fun. According to her, despite having to undergo filming in a horror genre, nothing scary happened.

"This is a horror film, but we shoot nothing scary at all. Even though we are all very timid players," she said with a laugh.

Meanwhile, Fajar Nugros chose Naysila and Lydia to join in his first horror film based on the abilities of each actor and the suitability of the characters.

"When we chose Naysila and Lydia, they were one by one. When we first read Naysila, she didn't know she was going to be in this film. We chose based on their abilities and the suitability of each character, not because of the mother and child," he said.
