Ben Stiller And Sean Penn Are Permanently Prohibited From Entering Russia

JAKARTA - The Russian government announced 25 Americans who are prohibited from entering Russia. Two of them are Ben Stiller and Sean Penn.

Through the official Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry website, the Russian government said this was a response to US sanctions against Russia following the Ukrainian invasion.

"In response to widespread personal sanctions against Russian citizens by the Joe Biden government, a permanent ban on entering Russian territory has been imposed by other groups," the government said in a statement.

The 25 people mentioned consisted of members of the US Congress, high officials, members of the US Congress, businessmen and cultural figures.

The two actors Sean Penn and Ben Stiller showed their support for Ukraine publicly.

In June, Stiller as UNHCR ambassador or UN high commissioner for refugees met with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

No one chooses to leave their homes. Looking for safety is a right and should be upheld for everyone," he said.

Meanwhile Sean Penn visited Ukraine to make a documentary about the invasion. He also came to the Kyiv area to record all the events in Ukraine.

Sean Penn is among those who supported Ukraine in Ukraine today. Our country thanked him for the courage and honesty he showed," the Ukrainian government said in a statement.

In addition to the two, there are US senators Krysten Sinema Richard Scott, Patrick Toomey Jr., Kevin Cramer and Mark Kelly. While the names Penn and Stiller came in after actor Morgan left last May.
