JAKARTA - Singer and film actor Shakia Jasmine is betrothed to Javanese royalty in the Royal Blood series. The series will premiere Vision+ starting August 17, 2022.

The series, directed by Eko Kristianto, tells the story of Anggi (Shakira Jasmine), a noble girl who has the opposite nature of her sister, Saras (Tania Qumsoani).

Anggi likes freedom and likes to sing in a band, while Saras has an obedient character. Anggi then falls in love with a man who has a different personality from himself, Bisma.

Anggi's family did not agree because they had matched the man with Saras in order to maintain the lineage of Javanese aristocrats.

Shakira admitted that she was enthusiastic about the screening of this series. "In this series I learned many things. I feel like I have to control all emotions, from happy, sad, angry, to holding back anger, there are all of them," he said when met at Gondangdia some time ago.

It wasn't too difficult for Shakira to feel arranged marriages. Because in real life, he had an arranged marriage with his mother's friend's child.

"I've had an arranged marriage, but it's not anything like that. Just getting to know my mother's friend's child," he said.

"In my personal opinion, we as children have the right to make choices. Be what we want, and determine our own goals. So basically I reject matchmaking, even though the family has good intentions to maintain the family's dignity, said Shakira Jasmine.
