Lost In Love Series Adapted From A True Story About Toxic Relationship

JAKARTA - The Lost in Love series will air today, Saturday, July 30, 2022 on Disney+ Hotstar with a total of 12 episodes. This series is based on the true story of a friend of Yandi Laurens, the director.

Yang Lost in Love tells the story of a man who was left married by his first love. Satria, played by Dion Wiyoko, has to accept the harsh reality that Dara, played by Sheila Dara, will marry another man, Rendra, played by Reza Rahadian.

Unfortunately, the relationship between Dara and Rendra is not a healthy one. Because, Rendra is a man who is temperamental and often hurts Dara both physically and verbally.

Then, their wedding plans are ruined because Dara suddenly disappears. Dara turned into an invisible figure. However, Dara's figure can only be seen and communicated with Satria.

"The idea for the story came from a friend of mine who was facing a toxic relationship. I suggested ending the relationship. But after explaining the logic, the reason for leaving his toxic girlfriend, I don't think he can make that decision," said Yandi, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, 30 July.

"The more I dug, I found that in the toxic relationship, my friend lost her. It means that because she was constantly made helpless, made to depend on her boyfriend, then I thought, 'Yes, yes. People in toxic relationships are actually turned off. From there, there was an idea what if I lost myself, I manifested it in the form of the missing Dara," he added.

By raising the issue of toxic relationships in the series, Yandi hopes that people will become more aware of toxic relationships. He also hopes that the community can care more and help those around him who are trapped in toxic relationships.

"At least toxic relationships will be discussed again in our environment. Hopefully if the series is liked, hopefully the issue will be discussed. By discussing it, hopefully there will be less or less number of victims and perpetrators or at least our awareness to always be aware that someone is trapped and then offers there is nothing that can be helped," he concluded.
