From A Soap Opera With The Theme Of Infidelity, Noktah Merah Marriage Becomes A Film About Family Values

JAKARTA - The legendary soap opera Noktah Merah Perkawinan was adapted into a film with the same title. Thursday, July 28, Rapi Films released the trailer and poster.

Noktah Merah Perkawinan tells the story of the relationship between Ambar (Marsha Timothy) and Gilang (Oka Antara) who began to enter a period of disappointment over various things in their marriage. Moreover, after a big fight due to the interference of their parents in Ambar and Gilang's household affairs.

Gilang works as a ladscape architect, while Ambar, on the sidelines of his daily life taking care of the house and the children, tries to keep himself busy and find peace by teaching ceramics workshops.

There, he gets acquainted with Yuli (Sheila Dara) who is one of the students in his class. However, the relationship between Gilang, Ambar and Yuli gets complicated after Gilang works on a garden project owned by Kamal (Roy Sungkono) who is Yuli's lover.

​Yuli's presence brings Gilang a long-lost comfort, and vice versa. Yuli is well aware that she is in love with Ambar's husband, but it is so difficult.

At the height of her heartache and disappointment, Ambar questions whether her marriage is worth saving. Because love alone is never enough to maintain a relationship.

Infidelity stories are always interesting to watch. "Every generation must have experienced the story that is exposed in this film. So I think this story can be enjoyed by all ages, whether they are already familiar with the soap opera or those who are just growing up," said Sunil Samtani as producer of Noktah Merah Perkawinan quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, July 28.

"Although this film is about adults and marriage, actually anyone can enjoy it," he added.

The film is directed by Sabrina Rochelle and written by Titien Wattimena. The film Noktah Merah Perkawinan will open in all theaters on September 15, 2022.

"The story of Noktah Merah Perkawinan is still interesting for Indonesian audiences. Because this film is not just about a marriage that was damaged by a third person. Basically it's about values ​​when we build relationships with other people," said Sabrina Rochelle as director of Noktah Merah Perkawinan.
