Reply To Lawsuit, Johnny Depp Also Appeals To Amber Heard

JAKARTA - Not only Amber Heard who filed an appeal. Johnny Depp's party is now also doing the same thing with the decision of 2 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 29 billion.

Previously, the Virginia jury stated that Depp was required to pay compensation to Amber Heard amounting to Rp29 billion. Then the actor filed an appeal because Heard did it first.

“This is a very positive verdict for Mr Depp. Mr. Depp believes this is the right time for both parties to move on," a source told Deadline on Sunday, July 24.

"But if Heard is determined to seek litigation by filing an appeal, Mr Depp is also filing to ensure records and legal issues can be considered," he said.

Amber Heard has been found responsible for the defamation of Johnny Depp. He was asked to pay compensation of Rp. 149 billion to Depp.

Then lawyer Amber Heard admitted that the actress did not have that amount of money. He also appealed to the judge in this case.

Amber Heard believes that legal justice can be served according to this lawsuit.

“We believe the court made a mistake that prevented a fair verdict. Therefore, we appealed the decision," said Amber Heard.

Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for defamation due to an article written by Heard in 2018. Although he did not mention Depp's name, the actor believes that many believe that the violence that Heard experienced was carried out by Depp.
