Come Back After Rehabilitation, Ardhito Pramono Rilis Lagu Baru Wijayakusuma

JAKARTA - Soloist Ardhito Pramono released his latest single titled Wijayakusuma on Thursday, July 7. Wijayakusuma became Ardhito's first work after completing his rehabilitation period.

This song is one of the material from the upcoming full album under the auspices of the Aksara Records label. The song was produced by Gusti Irwan Wibowo and was written with Narpati Oomleo Awangga.

Ardhito began to create Wijayakusuma since early 2021, when he was a witness to the eviction of the Asri area in Canggu, Bali, for the sake of villas that will be built by foreign nationals. Initially, he wanted to criticize the incident through a song, before Oomleo replied to Ardhito's criticism because his works had minimal Indonesian touch.

Ardhito also shifted his idea perspective and gave birth to Wijayakusuma, the Indonesian pop song two rounds of storytelling about existenceal self. In the first half, Ardhito questioned the meaning of life with a hidmat piano, a lizzling orchestration, and the choir answered.

A lot of my anxiety will... What am I used for, huh? I'm a musician, playing movies, broadcasting too. So what? In fact, it questions my function. I told a lot to Oomomo, for that I ended up including it in the lyrics, said Ardhito as quoted by ANTARA.

The lyrics of Wijayakusuma then developed as the song advanced to the second round, when he linked the meaning of life to the universe depicted by natural wealth and Indonesian culture.

At first I couldn't record this song because I didn't know how to sing it. At the first take, Oomo felt I was uncomfortable and lazy. So the one who is already in the song version, that's after going through the 100th take," said Ardhito.

Wijayakusuma's song was sung with a touch of Indonesian pop. Ardhito's concept is one of the triggers for Hanindito Sidharta, co-founder of Aksara Records, to revive the record label.

Now, Aksara Records is back because the Indonesian pop music scene today is very exciting, with a touch of pop 80's or 70's. Music like this is even favored by gen Z and millennial children," said Hanis.

Aksara Records will release Ardhito's latest full album which is planned to be released in mid-July. Like Wijayakusuma, the color of Ardhito's music on the album will also breathe old Indonesian pop.
