Roy Marten Remembers Rima Melati: Incredible Acting, Personality Above All

JAKARTA - Roy Marten was seen present at the funeral home where Rima Melati's body was buried. He remembered the actress as a person of extraordinary character and talent.

"He is spontaneous, very spontaneous, he is very natural, and good," said Roy Marten today, Friday, June 24.

Not only acting, Roy Marten feels that Rima Melati has a good personality. He also said Rima never discriminated against anyone.

"The rhyme of his acting was amazing, but his personality was above all else," recalled Roy Marten.

Gading Marten's father liked Rima Melati's acting in the 1972 film Intan Berduri. He also recalled the first time he met the actress, when he migrated to Jakarta.

“I knew Rima when I just came to Jakarta to overseas. I don't know how to become an artist yet," said Roy Marten.

“At that time he was already a big star and I was still an extra. But he accepts us unconditionally and arrogantly. What is it," he explained.

Roy Marten also learned to be a model with the help of Rima Melati as a mentor. From Rima, he understands that as an idol, he must be open with everyone.

"I see when we become big stars, there is no need to distance ourselves from other people. Rima is an inspiration for everyone," said Roy Marten.

Rima Melati reportedly died after being treated at the hospital. He died on Thursday, June 23 at 3:25 p.m. due to his illness.
