Not Only Acting Debut, Mahen's Own Accustomed Song Was Used For My Sassy Girl Movie Soundtrack

JAKARTA - Starting his career as a singer, Petrus Mahendra or better known as Mahen, ventured into the world of acting. Mahen debuted by playing in the film My Sassy Girl, alongside actors Jefri Nichol, Tiara Andini, and Nuca.

Apart from acting, Mahen was also given the opportunity to fill the soundtrack for this film, through his work entitled Getting Used to Itself. The video clip of Mahen's latest work was officially released by Falcon Music on June 16.

"Honestly, I was very happy to be given the opportunity to play in a film with other amazing casts, there were even Tiara and Nuca, who incidentally are singers as well, and I was given the opportunity to fill this soundtrack, I really feel very blessed - it really means a lot. Because, I have a new experience again, and honestly I'm really happy," he said when contacted Thursday, June 16.

In the process of making this single song, Mahen admitted that he had his own challenges. "The process of making the song took 2 days, and as much as possible I was involved in the atmosphere of the film as well. So I'm really happy because this is a new challenge for me," he said.

Combining the story of the film My Sassy Girl into a lyric, the story in this song was made by Mahen related to the story of the film. "This song is about people who are really tired of love. If you love me, I'm with you, let's be serious. When you play with me, I'm already used to being alone. I won't be so sick. what you think, but when I start to like and love someone, I hope that person is that serious," he explained.

Mahen also revealed, the message contained in this song is very deep. "The pain about the love you are experiencing now, in the past or in the future, believe me it will make you stronger in the sense that you will receive all gifts, because God knows what is best for you. I hope the Indonesian people can accept my latest work and also My film. Sassy Girl showing in cinemas," he concluded.

The film, which will air on June 23, 2023 in all Indonesian cinemas, will be played by Jefri Nichol and Tiara Andini, the film My Sassy Girl. Also played by Raja Giannuca, Petrus Mahendra, Ibnu Wardani, Surya Saputra, Indy Barends, Ferry Salim, Aida Nurmala, Vonny Cornelia, Mahalini Raharja, Axel Mathew, Anrez Adelio, Dewa Dayana, Jaja Miharja, Maudy Efftonisa, Ence Bagus, and Iyan Darmawan.
