JAKARTA - The Squid Game series officially continues into the second season. This news was announced by Netflix on Sunday, June 12 via official social media.

The director, Hwang Dong Hyuk also gave a statement via Netflix. He thanked the audience for the support that made Squid Game worldwide to this day.

“It took 12 years to realize the first season of 'Squid Game' last year. However, it only took 12 days for Squid Game to occupy the position as the most popular Netflix series of all time," said Hwang Dong Hyuk in a release received today, Monday, June 13.

“As writers, directors and producers of Squid Game, we extend a huge thank you to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and liking our show," he said.

In his letter, Hwang Dong Hyuk gave a sneak peek of the returning players. Some of them, Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) and Front Man (Lee Byung Hun) were confirmed to return in the second season.

The man carrying the ddakji in question is Gong Yoo. It is known that Gong Yoo acts as an intermediary for prospective players with Squid Game. Meanwhile, Young Hee is a giant female robot doll who has a story called Cheol Su.

Netflix also released a teaser of Young Hee with her eyes surrounding the camera. Towards the end of the video, the number 2 appears in Young Hee's eyes.
