Jurassic World Dominion Movie Review: Far From The Dinosaur Theme

JAKARTA - Jurassic World: Dominion is here as the last film in the Jurassic World franchise. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, this film tells the story of dinosaurs and humans.

Jurassic World: Dominion tells the story four years after Isla Nublar was destroyed. Now, dinosaurs live freely and side by side with humans. This story is a continuation of Fallen Kingdom (2018).

The lives of dinosaurs and humans actually threaten the ecosystem. A giant locust plague destroys fields and harms farmers in the United States.

A genetic engineering company, Biosyn intervened to conserve dinosaurs in the Dolomite Mountains, Italy. One day, Claire Dearing's (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen Grady's (Chris Pratt) children are kidnapped by suspected agents from Biosyn.

Therefore, Claire and Owen decide to save their child and find out about dinosaur conservation.

This film features the continuation of Fallen Kingdom but still with new conflicts so that the audience will not be left behind. Unfortunately this conflict has nothing to do with even the dinosaur story.

Dinosaurs are only present as a complement and add to the spooky impression on Claire and Owen's journey when looking for their child. But the dinosaurs here are much more diverse than the previous films.

On the other hand, Jurassic World: Dominion managed to evoke nostalgia for its fans. Three Jurassic Park players: Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum).

The three of them prove their chemistry like 1993's Jurassic Park can still be felt. Their dynamics when combined add to the excitement of watching Jurassic World: Dominion.

It's unfortunate that the Jurassic World franchise cover has many shortcomings. However, the viewing experience will be treated with stunning action and magnificent visuals that are presented throughout the film.
