Melting Metal Of The 90s And The Contemporary Era, Guitarist Wancum Releases Single Work On Survivors' Anthem

JAKARTA - Guitarist Wancum released his latest single entitled Survivors' Anthem. This is a follow up to Sunflower which was released one month ago.

According to Wancum to VOI, Survivors' Anthem has been written since 2018. Changes in the arrangement of this song are the reason the release schedule is often pushed back.

"Including the addition of the guitar solo in the middle of the song where the rhythm is played a bit djent," guitarist whose full name is Ahmad Kurniawan explained the changes to the arrangement in his new song.

"The guitar sound has also been changed to a bit more modern and tight. Bassist Daeng Oktav is still involved to play his part and it sounds more 'nonjok' and organic," he continued.

So, why should music lovers listen to this song? The composition of this song is varied and very wide. There is the influence of metal music from the 90s and the present era that have fused into one.

"Starting from the heterogeneous bars/measures, there are 4/4, 5/4, 9/4. The chords are also wide. Elements of electronic instruments are also included. The guitar sound is made more modern and high gain and tight," Wancum detailed .

In terms of lyrics, Suvivors'a Anthem tells about the victims of the earthquake in Palu and Donggala in 2018. Through this song, Wancum conveys hope that the affected parties can rise up and move on with their lives.

"Those who are affected by the disaster will certainly not give up just like that with the situation. They must have hope to continue their life. For me, their hopes and prayers are the 'national anthem' to keep the spirit of continuing their lives again."

After Sunflower and Suvivors' Anthem, there are still several single works to be released every month by Wancum. He is also preparing a music video (playthrough) for this song with supporting musicians (drummer and bassist).

"After everything is released, maybe I will summarize it in my first solo album. Hopefully it won't take too long, considering I'm busy as an office person," he concluded.
