JAKARTA - Michael B. Jordan is the producer for Warner Bros and DC's newest project, Static Shock . Previously, this announcement was first released on DC FanDome in August.

Jordan's involvement in the producer position is considered interesting, because he is known to be a part of Marvel's Black Panther film.

However, there is a purpose for Michael B. Jordan to join DC, namely the formation of a black superhero character from DC.

"I am proud to be part of a new universe centered on black superheroes, our community deserves it," Jordan quoted The Hollywood Reporter as saying on October 18.

"The Outlier Society as a production house is committed to creating diversity from comic book stories across platforms and we are excited to work with Reggie and Warner Bros as a first step."

Static Shock tells the story of a character named Virgil Hawkins, a teenager who transforms into a superhero and gets electromagnetic powers after inhaling foreign gases.

Static Shock was first released through Milestone Comics, a company founded by black writers and distributing it through DC Comics.

Then, this story began to appear as part of the DC Comics universe in 2008. As a black character, Static Shock came to the center of the issue of racial equality and made this story special.

Meanwhile, neither DC nor Warner Bros. have yet to announce the release of Static Shock .
