JAKARTA - When Benedict Wong was lined up as Wong in the 2016 film Doctor Strange, he immediately became a fan favorite of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Since then, the British actor has appeared in a number of films such as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings animated series What If…? and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In the latest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wong is not just Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) right-hand man, but the Great Wizard.

To Variety, Wong revealed his story of playing the Great Wizard, his beginnings to acting and his comments on Doctor Strange's spin-off.

"It's been six years since 'Doctor Strange' started and playing the character of Wong was amazing," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 10.

Wong, who has loved comics since he was a child, said he was happy that so many people liked his character in the MCU and fans wanted to see more of Wong's story. When asked if he would like to appear in a Doctor Strange spin-off, Wong replied: "I'm very touched, and there are answers to certain questions that need to be answered."

"We didn't see him for five years when he entered the portal, so we can put the story in there. Let's wait and see what Marvel does," he continued.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is a producer.
