JAKARTA - The Disney production house launched a teaser trailer for the film Avatar: The Way of Water on Monday, May 9. Previously, this teaser could only be seen before the screening of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in theaters.

The one-minute teaser features Pandora getting more beautiful and the Na'vi people enjoying that beauty. They surround the sea and land which is dominated by the blue color.

Pandora is also growing with the number of planes and engines. The Na'vi people also began to wear uniforms and have weapons of war.

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) now have a child. But they also face a new challenge to keep Pandora.

"Everywhere we go, I know one thing: this family is our protector," Sully says in the trailer.

Pandora's visuals are also much clearer than the first film in 2009. James Cameron and Jon Landau ensure that Avatar: The Way of Water presents quality visuals.

“I wanted Pandora to be something special. Every shot is designed for big screens, highest resolution and immersive 3D," said James Cameron, citing Deadline.

“At the center of every story is Sully's family. Each story will stand alone with its own conclusion. There will be satisfying resolutions for each film but when we look at the whole story, it becomes an epic saga,” added Jon Landau.

Avatar: The Way of Water also stars Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Oona Chaplin, Jermaine Clement and others.

Meanwhile, Disney will premiere Avatar on September 23, while the Avatar sequel will hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
