Amber Heard Calls Johnny Depp's Defamation Case The Hardest And Painful Thing Ever Experienced

JAKARTA - Aquaman star Amber Heard testified that the defamation case brought up by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, was the hardest and most painful thing she had ever experienced.

"I find it hard to find words to describe how difficult this is," the 36-year-old actress said in court, quoted by AFP via Antara, Thursday, May 5. "This is the most difficult and painful thing I have ever experienced," he said.

Depp sued Heard over an article he wrote in The Washington Post in December 2018 in which the actress described herself as a "public figure representing domestic violence".

Heard did not mention Depp's name in the article. But the Pirates of the Caribbean actor sued because the article implied Depp was a perpetrator of domestic violence.

Depp is seeking $50 million in damages, while Heard countered against $100 million, claiming he was the victim of physical and sexual abuse at the hands of Depp.

A psychologist employed by Heard's legal team testified that Heard suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of Depp's abuse.

Psychologist Dwan Hughes testified to the contrary from Depp's doctor who witnessed Depp, Shannon Curry, who stated that Heard did not have PTSD.

Hughes said Heard reported a number of abusive behavior by Depp and a number of incidents of sexual assault.

"He pushed and slapped him with the front and back of his hand," he said. "He strangled, pushed against the wall, pushed him and he fell. He kicked him in the back."

Depp denies physically abusing Heard and claims it is his ex-wife who often commits violence. Depp's lawyers summoned experts who testified that Depp lost millions of dollars as a result of Heard's allegations.

Depp and Heard met in 2009 on the set of "The Rum Diary", they married in February 2015 and officially divorced two years later.
