JAKARTA - The film Towards Magrib is Novia Bachmid's acting debut. This film not only offers horror stories but also the psychology of people with mental disorders (ODGJ).

This film tells the story of 3 students (Thalia, Erlan and Ahmad) majoring in psychology meeting a mental patient (Nina) for their thesis research material. Starting from Nina's mental problems which eventually developed into mystical things that are beyond logic.

Nina who gets a lot of mystical terrors while suffering from this mental illness. Her body and mind can be controlled during the day, but when the sun dims, Nina seems to be in a trance and has to be shackled in a bamboo house with a ground floor.

When she heard the call to prayer, Nina calmed down again. The whole night had to be shackled so as not to make her grandmother worried.

His condition then attracted the interest of psychology students from Jakarta to conduct thesis research and documentary films. During filming various strange events occurred. The mystical terrors were felt by the students. Superstition, mystical, and culture collide with science and their knowledge so far.

There are many things to be conveyed in the film Towards Maghrib. Departing from myth, Helfi Kardit who is a screenwriter, director, and producer combines various myths and stories that have long been known and feared in society.

If you don't focus on watching, this story can be a weakness because it's quite difficult to connect. Or even incomprehensible to the audience.

Visually, Towards Maghrib is quite promising the feel of horror. Unfortunately, some jump scares with voices that are too high interfere with the nuance.

Novia Bachmid is seen trying hard to get into the character of ODGJ. Despite the lack of players, Novia can be a good storyline.

The film Towards Magrib surprises with a story whose ending is unpredictable until the end. The audience is curious about how this film will close the story.
