JAKARTA - The8 confirmed positive for COVID-19 today, Monday, March 7th. This unpleasant news was announced by PLEDIS Entertainment following several other SEVENTEEN members.

The agency explained, previously the singer, whose real name was Xu Minghao, had a test on Saturday, March 5 and the results were negative. The8 did that because two SEVENTEEN members Seungkwan and DK tested positive.

"However, he had a mild cough, The8 did a PCR test on the same day and confirmed (positive) COVID-19 on Monday morning, March 7," said PLEDIS Entertainment.

Therefore, THE8 cannot carry out promotional activities with SEVENTEEN for the time being.

"All SEVENTEEN members apart from S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, DK, Seungkwan, and Vernon took a self-test on Sunday, March 6 and all of the results were negative," the agency continued.

They also stated none had symptoms like THE8. Until now, PLEDIS is trying to make SEVENTEEN members recover quickly.

Within a week, the list of K-pop idols who tested positive for COVID-19 continued to grow. Besides SEVENTEEN, there are Lee Saerom and Jang Gyuri fromis_9, UP10TION's Kuhn, Block B's PO, and SHINee's Key.

Meanwhile, Minghao said he immediately occupied a trending topic along with fan support so that the idol recovered from COVID-19.
