Buya Yahya's Polite Words Melt Dorce Gamalama's Will, Finally Buried As A Man

JAKARTA - Dorce Gamalama had given a will through Denny Sumargo so that his grave would be near his house, next to the mosque near his house in the Lubang Buaya area. Dorce Gamalama also hopes to be buried as a woman.

Regarding the place of the grave, the family fulfilled Dorce's wish at Lubang Buaya after he died today, Wednesday, February 16. However, the funeral was not carried out in accordance with the will. The family finally buried Dorce's body as a boy as Dorce was identified at birth.

Fatimah as Dorce's adopted son confirmed his mother's funeral today.

"So Mama has handed over to us the children, if something like this (died), Mama handed it over to us. And we decided to (buried) according to the mother's birth," said Fatimah when met by VOI at RSPP Simprug, South Jakarta.

When Dorce's will went viral and was opposed by netizens, Dorce had refused and firmly wanted to be buried as a woman.

KH Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman or who is usually called Gus Miftah had responded to the desire of host Dorce Gamalama to be buried as a woman.

"What I know is that he was born a man and then underwent surgery to become a woman. If conditions are like this, in fiqh he is still a man. This means, as far as I know, his funeral will certainly return to the nature of origin when he was born," explained Gus Miftah. quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, January 2.

Gus Miftah also emphasized that even if a person has a will to be buried as a woman even though he is a man by nature, the will does not have to be carried out because it violates the Shari'a.

Hearing Gus Miftah's comment, Dorce was furious. He uploaded a video so that Gus Miftah would not interfere.

"To the kiai and ustaz who explained my death, who bathed me, buried me, let my family take care of me. I want the shroud to be seven layers, eight layers, I leave it to those who take care of it, let my family take care of it," said Dorce.

Dorce Gamalama gave a different reaction when he heard Guya Yahya's explanation. Buya Yahya commented on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel.

"A man who is born a man, then changed into a woman, in essence he is still a man. The way to treat the corpse is a man, because he is not a real woman," he was quoted as saying Monday, January 31.

Buya Yahya emphasized that Dorce Gamalama still deserves respect. "Because there is one thing that is different in him that needs to be fixed, so don't get used to berating or making fun of him," said Buya Yahya.

Hearing Buya's explanation, Dorce seemed calmer. Not like when he got an explanation from Gus Miftah.

"I have great respect, respect for Buya Yahya. Compared to others, Buya Yahya is an extraordinary scholar who is full of social spirit, a big soul, who doesn't bring people down, doesn't insult people, doesn't blaspheme people. Thank you Buya Yahya," said Dorce in the video uploaded on Instagram @dg_kcp quoted Wednesday, February 2.

Dorce Gamalama admitted that he was sincere, after all, his body would be taken care of if he died. "People have started to talk a lot about my death, if I die, take care of my corpse. Take care of it according to the gender I have. God willing, I am sincere," concluded Dorce Gamalama.
