JAKARTA - The series All of Us are Dead topped the list as a popular Netflix TV show for 15 days. The position of the zombie series from South Korea has just dropped to second place after being displaced by the United States series Inventing Anna.

Data released by streaming analytics company Flix Patrol shows All of Us Are Dead has topped the list for 15 days in a row since it premiered on January 29.

The series adapted based on the webtoon stars Lee Su-hyeok, Cho Yi-hyun, Park Ji-hoo, Yoon Chan-young, Yoo In Soo, Kim Byung-chul, Lee Yoo Mi, Shin Jae Hwi, to Ha Seung Ri.

The series tells the story of chaos that occurs in a high school due to a mysterious zombie virus. A group of students wage an all-out battle against zombies who were previously their friends and teachers. Meanwhile, none of the police and other adults came to save them.

In addition to fighting zombies, All of Us Are Dead also raises the issue of school violence as another main theme. A mysterious zombie virus was developed by a teacher to help his son fight off school bullies.

Director Lee JQ is aware of the criticism that has surfaced regarding the portrait of school violence and the excessive use of profanity.

“Many people feel uncomfortable seeing bullying at school and want to distance themselves from it. But our society may not be much different from the school. We can become perpetrators or victims with or without realizing it," he said, quoted from ANTARA.

The All of Us Are Dead series is Lee's first small screen project in 10 years after he worked on the romance series The King 2 Hearts (2012). He said he was already thinking about the next All of Us Are Dead story, although a second season has yet to be confirmed.
