JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded the movement of vehicles returning to Jabodetabek after the 2024 Christmas holiday. It is recorded that more than 467,000 vehicles have returned.

Lisye Octaviana's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head said the total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased by 12.9 percent when compared to normal traffic, namely 413,831 vehicles.

"A total of 467,300 vehicles returned to the Jabotabek area on the 2024 Christmas Day Holiday which falls from Thursday to Saturday (26 to December 28, 2024)," he said in an official statement, Sunday, December 29.

Lisye said this figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (from Merak), GT Ciawi (from Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (from Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (from Bandung).

"For the distribution of traffic back to Jabotabek from three directions, the majority were 219,138 vehicles or 46.9 percent from the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 136,479 vehicles or 29.2 percent from the West (Merak) and 111,683 vehicles or 23.9 percent from the South (Puncak) direction," he explained.

The details, continued Lisye, are that traffic returns to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 106,097 vehicles, or an increase of 32.7 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, continued Lisye, traffic returned to Jabotabek from the direction of Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 113,041 vehicles, an increase of 23.4 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 219,138 vehicles, an increase of 27.7 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Furthermore, continued Lisye, traffic returning to Jabotabek from Merak via the Cikupa GT Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 136,479 vehicles, 3.0 percent lower than normal traffic.

"Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 111,683 vehicles, an increase of 9.9 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Lisye also said Jasa Marga noted that there was still an increase in vehicles heading to Trans Java on Saturday, December 28 at GT Cikampek Utama, as many as 44,153 vehicles increased by 40.4 percent from normal traffic, namely 31,458 vehicles.

Lisye also reminded that the peak return flow for the 2024 Christmas holiday is predicted to occur today, Sunday, December 29, 2024.
