JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) officially issued Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) 96 of 2024 concerning amendments to PMK Number 193/2021 concerning Tobacco Product Excise (CHT) rates in the form of e-cigarettes and other tobacco processing products.
The policy rules are related to the minimum Retail Selling Price (HJE) for e-cigarettes and other tobacco processing results which will take effect on January 1, 2025.
The minimum HEJ policy of e-cigarettes is carried out with the consideration of controlling tobacco consumption, protecting the labor-intensive tobacco products industry, and optimizing state revenues.
"The provisions regarding excise tariffs on tobacco products and the minimum retail selling price per unit of tobacco products, for each type of domestically made tobacco products and imported as stated in the Attachment of this Ministerial Regulation will take effect from January 1, 2025," quoted in the regulation, Friday, December 13.
