PLN Reminds People To Use Electricity Legally

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) Jakarta Raya's Main Distribution Unit (UID) reminded the public to use electricity legally to avoid electrical short circuits that have been the cause of the fire.

"People should obey the existing rules regarding the use of electricity correctly and appropriately so as not to harm themselves and the surrounding community," said General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Lasiran in a press release, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 26.

Illegal use of electricity, he said, could result in a fire due to an electrical short circuit.

Therefore, PLN UID Jakarta Raya routinely socializes Control of Electricity Usage (P2TL) as stated in PLN's Board of Directors Regulation Number 0028.P/DIR/2023, which aims to carry out technical checks on networks and electrical meters under the authority of PLN.

"PLN UID Jakarta Raya will massively continue to socialize directly and through various social media to provide education," he said.

Lasiran said that all areas of DKI Jakarta had met 100 percent of their electricity. However, the use of electricity that violates the rules (illegal) can take other regional rights that have not met their electricity needs.

In addition to harming oneself, illegal use of electricity can also harm others, including causing accidents to be electrocuted, electrical stresses in one area unstable due to overloaded and unmeasured electricity, and fire hazards.

"So there are many things that we need to agree on together, so that social impacts that harm others can be minimized for the safety and equitable use of electricity," said Lasiran.
