Whitesky Facility Receives IDR 154.9 Billion Funds To Develop Airports In Indonesia

The Whitesky Group through its subsidiary Whitesky Facility is collaborating with the ADB Group with an initial investment value of 10 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 154.9 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 15,494 per US dollar). The funds will be used for airport development in Indonesia.

The CEO of Whitesky Group, Denon Prawiraatmadja, said that the funds obtained from this initial investment will be focused on operational costs for airport development.

Meanwhile, Indonesia currently has 270 airports. Where 36 of them are commercially managed by PT. Angkasa Pura (AP) I and II (Persero).

"Through this collaboration, the initial investment value of US$10 million will be focused on operational costs in airport development. Either airports that we may cooperate with SOEs or airports under the management of the Ministry of Transportation," Denon said in an official statement, Friday, November 17.

Denon said this collaboration was based on the large market opportunity for users of air transportation services, which after the COVID-19 pandemic continued to increase.

Furthermore, Denon said referring to INACA's data in its white paper, by 2025 the number of passengers and movement of aircraft in the country had returned to normal as before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In dealing with these conditions, said Denon, the development of air infrastructure, especially airports, is the main key in the success of the national transportation business.

If you talk that in 2045 it is hoped that Indonesia will become the fourth largest economic country in the world, of course transportation will become the backbone so that our country's economy remains stable.

Not only from investors, we as business actors also expect support from the Government through the relevant Ministries to facilitate investment in the country," he said.

In fact, said Denon, his party has also held intensive talks with potential investors in Canada. Where it has an investment target of 1 billion US dollars.

"We will use this investment to cooperate with SOE airports and we will also collaborate with airports under the management of the Ministry of Transportation or UPBU. All of this is with the aim of building better connectivity so that it can improve the national economy," he explained.

Meanwhile, ADB Group CEO Margaret TJ said that her party wanted to take part in an active role in advancing the world of aviation in the country. With this contribution, it is hoped that the economy in the country can advance even more.
