Has Great Potential, Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Says Maritime Sector Can Topang Indonesia's Glory

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that the Indonesian Maritime sector has great potential to use. In fact, according to him, it can also be a pillar of Indonesia's glory.

Furthermore, Budi said Indonesia is an archipelagic region. So that this potential must be put forward, not even positioned behind.

"I agree with the president and governor that the sea should not be occupied. We will make it a front page and God willing, we can make Indonesia glory," he said at the 59th National Maritime Peak Celebration in 2023 in Kupang, which was monitored virtually, Thursday, October 12.

Budi said the theme of the 59th HMN in 2023 illustrates Indonesia's readiness to build Indonesian maritime affairs for Sovereign, Advanced and Sustainable Nusantara Countries.

Furthermore, Budi said that the Commemoration of National Maritime Day this year took the theme The Developed Airline of Advanced Indonesia Manuju. The theme of the 59th HMN is also visually illustrated through the concept of ship background display which gives the nuances of Maritime Affairs and the attraction of ornamental fishing boats as a form of appreciation for fishermen on the commemoration of National Maritime Day.

"The peak of the 59th National Maritime Day in Kupang City is also a strategic momentum for us to convey a number of National Strategic Projects (PSN) and National Strategic Priority Projects (Major Project) in East Nusa Tenggara Province which have been successfully completed and are also targeted for completion by the end of 2023 to 2024 as a Presidential Priority Promise for NTT Province," he said.

Budi also believes that the celebration of the 59th HMN peak in Kupang will bring new enthusiasm for the people of NTT in managing the existing maritime potential, especially in supporting the development of the Archipelago-minded State towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
