Pertamina Ensures Elpiji To Avtur Stocks Are Safe During The 2023 Mandalika MotoGP

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga guarantees stock of fuel oil (BBM), LPG, and avtur at a safe level during the Mandalika MotoGP racing event on October 13-15, 2023.

"Our efforts were indeed carried out much earlier considering that the movement of MotoGP preparations in Mandalika had started several days ago when several logistics transport aircraft had been in and out of Lombok as well as logistics operational vehicles that needed to be supported by good avtur and fuel supplies. This effort will continue until the entire series of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is completed," said Pertamina President Director Patra Niaga Riva Siahaan quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

In addition, there is an additional operational time of the main facilities which is the focus of MotoGP success, such as supply of avtur at Lombok International Airport and Fuel Terminal Ampenan, Mataram City, NTB for BBM.

To anticipate the projected increase in aviation fuel needs by up to 190 percent of daily normal distribution, Pertamina Patra Niaga informed that from October 5 to 17, the Lombok International Airport Aircraft Charging Depot (DPPU) will operate 24 hours to meet the aviation needs for logistics aircraft, lease aircraft, and increase flight schedules to and from Lombok during the Mandalika MotoGP event. As for fuel needs, Pertamina Patra Niaga stated that there is also no difference, where the projection is an increase of about 43 percent of daily consumption. Therefore, Fuel Terminal Ampenan as the backbone of fuel supply in Lombok will increase operating hours starting at 02.00 WITA which usually starts at 06.00 WITA as well as additional operating service hours on Sunday.

"So, apart from upstream, we ensure that the stock and distribution run safely, Pertamina Patra Niaga also ensures that our channeling agency is ready to serve a surge in energy needs. Approaching the main date, there will definitely be an increase in fuel needs for community mobility and spectators, then also an increase in LPG in restaurants and hotels. We will be ready and guarantee that this need is well met," said Riva.
