JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has pocketed a new contract amounting to IDR 19.98 trillion as of August 2023. This figure is an increase of 10.7 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) compared to the same period in 2022 of IDR 18.04 trillion.

The largest contribution to the acquisition of new contracts came from the infrastructure and buildings segment at 47.3 percent, followed by the industrial, EPCC, property and investment segments.

From the employer side, most of the projects won by WIKA come from BUMN and the government with a monthly progress payment scheme.

WIKA Corporate Secretary Mahendra Vijaya said that the increase in new contracts indicated that the company's transformation steps were starting to bear fruit.

"This means that this increases employer confidence with better performance," said Mahendra in his written statement, quoted Tuesday, October 3.

One of the newest projects obtained by the company in August 2023 is the Cijurey Dam Package 3 project in Bogor, West Java, which was entrusted by the PUPR Ministry to WIKA-Jaya Construction or Joint Operations (KSO).

The contract value obtained by WIKA was IDR 724.75 billion or reaching 70 percent of the KSO project.

"WIKA is trusted to work on the access road, construction of spillway and intake structures, hydro mechanical and electrical, as well as work on the inundation area with a target of completion in 2028," said Mahendra.

The Cijurey Dam project itself was built to answer the needs of the residents of the Bogor Regency Government, especially regarding irrigation, by helping the water of dry rice fields during the dry season in East Bogor.

Mahendra said that the achievement of the Cijurey Dam project was a reflection of the trust of the government through the PUPR Ministry in WIKA after successfully completing the National Strategic Project (PSN) in the water resources sector, including dams.

According to him, WIKA's involvement in the construction of the Cijurey Dam shows WIKA's commitment to be present in implementing infrastructure development in the country which prioritizes the greatest benefit to the community.

"We will answer this mandate by implementing the project well according to the quality and time targets set by the project owner," he concluded.
