JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga VP Marketing Strategy, Indra Edi Santoso, said that the penetration of the use of Bright Gas'sliquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the community is increasing.

"The penetration is quite large, because there is an advantage, that's why they (the public) use Bright Gas, and the size also varies from 3 kg, 5.5 kg, and 12 kg. For apartments, they usually use 5.5 kg," said Edi at the 2023 Bright Gas Cooking Competition (BGCC) in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.

As a non-subsidized LPG, Edi explained that the increase in Bright Gas consumption was due to having a double-spindle valve system (DSVS), as well as LPG size.

According to him, the market share of non-subsidized LPG users in Indonesia is increasing due to the decline in the number of poor people from year to year.

"Of course, the market share is much bigger in Bright Gas because 3 kg of consumption is for the poor, right, and we see that Indonesia's own condition from year to year the number of poor people is decreasing," he said.

As an effort to encourage people to use Bright Gas, Pertamina conducts several socializations in several areas, and provides benefits for villages with the most LPG Bright Gas users.

Edi said that his party encouraged the use of Bright Gas LPG among Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by holding events in various parts of Indonesia.

One of the competition concept events, namely the 2023 Bright Gas Cooking Competition (BGCC) which was held in Jakarta.

The BGCC is an annual competition organized by Pertamina, which this year has the theme Masakan Rumahan Andalan Keluarga to find the best cook in Indonesia.

BGCC 2023 was attended by 750 participants from four cities, namely Surabaya, Jakarta, Medan and Makassar. After going through the preliminary process, there are 13 participants who will compete in the grand final.

Edi said, in addition to prizes in the form of cash and gold, the three selected champions will be included in cooking courses in Singapore to further improve their ability to cook in holding BGCC, Pertamina collaborates with the Ranks Festival.

The competition aims to explore the potential of the Indonesian people to recognize and increase their knowledge of Indonesian culinary.

"This event shows several MSMEs selling food, they can feel the advantage of Bright Gas because they cook it using Bright Gas," he concluded.
