JAKARTA - Trial of implementing Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF), the latest technology that presents automatic payments for toll road users without having to stop, has not been carried out until now.

It is known that the trial schedule should have been carried out on the Bali Mandara Toll Road on June 1, but so far it has not been carried out and has actually experienced a trial delay.

Regarding this, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), which is the relevant party to conduct the trial, said that his party would still meet with PT Roatex Indonesia Toll System (RITS) to discuss MLFF.

"On Monday we will talk about it again, there is still something we need to meet," said Hedy when met after a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI in Jakarta, quoted Friday, September 8.

Hedy said that so far the contents of the investment contract carried out by PT Roatex as the toll road implementing Business Entity (BUP) without touching has not yet contained a transition period. As a result, the Ministry of PUPR will add a transition period to the implementation of MLFF technology.

"Yes, right, there is a changing scope, there used to be no transition, now there is a transition. So, there is a change, we finally discussed how to finance it, there are many things," he said.

He considered that the transition period was not contained in Roatex's investment contract, so it was necessary to increase investment costs.

On the other hand, BUJT also does not necessarily agree that the cost of the transition period must be borne by his party.

"Right, we have to agree on who the transition costs, because it's not in the contract (Roatex), because if the money problem can't just shake hands (agree), the calculation must be clear," said Hedy.

MLFF itself is the latest technology in the world that processes payments automatically for vehicles passing on toll roads.

Through this technology, toll road users can enter and leave without having to stop to pay.

This is possible because MLFF uses System Satellite Global Navigation (GNSS) technology, which is a system that allows transactions through applications on smartphones and reads via satellite, so that readers' tools on every place on toll roads such as RFID-based technology provide more effective cost solutions.
