Help Reduce Air Pollution, Beam Mobility Reinforces Commitment To Expanding Ride-Sharing E-Bike Services

JAKARTA - Indonesia, especially Jakarta, has recently been filled with air pollution problems. Based on data from IQAIR, the air quality index in Indonesia, especially Jakarta in August, was in the category of unhealthy or unhealthy for sensitive groups (jigga).

Bad air quality tends to affect human respiratory tracts, so susceptible diseases occur ranging from short term to coughs, flu, dizziness, to long term risks contracting Acute Breathing Channel Infections (ARI).

One of the efforts to deal with it is micromobility services. The Country Manager of the Indonesian Mobility Beam, Devraj Sathivelu, said that the Mobility Beam is very concerned about the air quality in Indonesia, especially the recent JaboDeTaBek.

"Our innovation through micro mobility can be one of the answers to air pollution that occurs. The system we offer will produce alternative transportation that is more sustainable, efficient, safe, and more affordable. Senior Product Manager of the Indonesian Mobility Beam, Christofe Survivian, said that all of Beam Mobility transportation is also equipped with advanced IoT technology called Geofence.

"This technology allows us to monitor the condition of the vehicle in real-time, and can automatically detect if there are problems with the Beam vehicle. This Geofence technology can also detect when battery replacement is needed for the Beam fleet. Even Geofence technology provides restrictions for areas or areas that can be passed by every e-bike beam rider," Christofe explained.

The entire Beam Mobility fleet has a maximum speed of 25km/hour. The Mobility Beam ensures its fleet is accessible to its users, each fleet is equipped with use instructions and safety instructions for driving. In addition, as an effort to introduce the Beam Mobility fleet to the community more deeply, there is a free fleet training program called the Beam Safe Academy.

In 2019 Beam received Neutral Climate certification as a company that pays attention to eliminating carbon emissions. Beams are also targeting to go further to reduce carbon emissions by implementing a Reduction Action Plan by switching to using an electric fleet from certified renewable sources, as well as converting to certified energy sources for all of its operational activities.
