Bulog Will Launch 1 Kg Packaged Rice, The Price Is Priced At IDR 9,450

JAKARTA - The Public Company of the Logistics Affairs Agency (Perum Bulog) plans to issue food stabilization rice and food prices (SPHP) for mini or 1 kilogram (kg) packaging. This rice will be priced at IDR 9,450 per packaging.

Bulog President Director Budi Waseso said this mini-packaged rice was intended for people who could not afford 5 kg of packaging.

"Bulog will make 1 kg packaging later. So people who won't be able to buy 5kg, we will give the 1 kg later," he said at Perumnas Klender Market, East Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

Buwas, Budi Waseso's nickname, said that he would realize the mini or 1 kg packaged rice. Later, this rice will be priced at IDR 9,450.

Actually, continued Buwas, Bulog had previously produced rice with 1 kg of packaging. However, at that time, many people did not need the rice. Thus, Bulog decided to cancel it.

"I once made 1 kg and 250 grams of it. I've made it, but it turns out that people don't need it. Now maybe we need it now, we can hold it again," he said.

Even so, Buwas admitted that for the time being his party will focus on 5 kg of packaged rice. The reason is, the packaged rice is needed by the community.

"What we are concentrating on is this 5kg, people need it which is 5kg for a minimum week. We will fulfill it first," he said.
