Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani revealed that the value of subsidies and electricity compensation until July 2023 was IDR 48.5 trillion which was fully borne by the state budget.

According to him, these benefits are given to 96.7 million customers throughout Indonesia who fall into the category of underprivileged families or groups that are considered vulnerable.

"This means that the APBN issues (for subsidies and electricity compensation) IDR 6.9 trillion every month," he said in a press conference held today, Friday, August 11.

The Minister of Finance explained that the provision of subsidies and electricity compensation is part of central government spending which is channeled through non-ministerial/institutional (K/L). As of last month, the total value of non-K/L expenditure was recorded at IDR 527.4 trillion.

Meanwhile, other central government expenditures are channeled through ministries/agencies with a figure of Rp493 trillion. Thus, central government spending until July 2023 is Rp1,020.4 trillion.
