Erick Thohir Strives For The IKN BUMN Karya Garapan Project To Stay On Schedule

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir is working on infrastructure projects for the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) which are being worked on by state-owned contractors to continue as scheduled.

He admitted that he had even held a meeting with the Deputy Minister (Wamen) of SOEs, contractors for BUMN Karya, and Himbara to discuss this.

"The point is that IKN (project), of course, I have had a meeting with Karya Karya (BUMN Karya) this morning, with Mr. Wamen Rosan and Mr. Deputy Minister Tiko, for Karya and Himbara to immediately encourage development according to the schedule set by the government," said Erick when met after the inauguration of the Indonesia Arena in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Jakarta, Monday, August 7.

Erick said that his party would also prepare for support from the funding side in the event of a problem later.

"Regarding funding, later we will support it, we will make preparations," he said.

In addition, he said, the issue of restructuring in state-owned companies is a normal process and will not hinder the IKN project, especially since there is a multi-year contract payment guarantee or Multi Years Contract (MYC).

"If there is a restructuring issue of Waskita Wika, it's a normal process, but if the project is carried out, right, it will continue. Moreover, there is already a guarantee for multi-year payment. We'll just talk to the OJK later," he said.

Furthermore, said Erick, restructuring in OJK regulations does limit Himbara banks from being able to provide assistance anymore. He asked that it be distinguished between corporations and construction projects being carried out.

"As long as the project has a multi-year payment guarantee, right, it's finished, but don't put it here to buy more land, buy another building. Yes, the project must be completed," he concluded.

One of the BUMN Karya who took part in the infrastructure project at IKN was PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WSKT).

Through its business unit, namely the Infrastructure II Division, Waskita won a tender for the construction of the IKN KIPP District Feeder Road project worth IDR 1.3 trillion.
