JAKARTA - Entering its 5th year of implementation, the 2023 Indodax Short Film Festival (ISFF) is back and invites young filmmakers to be creative. With prizes of hundreds of millions of rupiah, one of the best short film festivals in Indonesia is a testament to Indodax's seriousness in finding young talents as the future #asset in the film industry.

This event is a forum for Indonesian film people to show their talents and abilities in the field of film arts, such as acting skills, shooting, and the ability to create storylines.

INDODAX CEO, Oscar Darmawan, said that people's enthusiasm for the implementation of the ISFF continues to increase every year, including in terms of quality and quantity. Oscar also invited young filmmakers in the country to participate again this year.

"Taking the theme "Unbounded", I hope participants can use any point of view in making works, as long as they do not contain elements of SARA, pornography, politics & intellectual property rights (HAKI), and of course it is inclusive," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, August 3.

"With the theme Limitless, it means where we want every film activist not to restrict himself from continuing to be creative. What is the goal? So that in the future the films presented can raise the enthusiasm of young people to escape the boundaries and shackles that hinder them. With the enthusiasm of the community for organizing events once a year, it is hoped that it can have a positive impact on the audience and the people of Indonesia," explained Oscar.

Meanwhile, one of the judges of ISFF 2023, Anjas Maradita, really welcomes that ISFF will be a forum for the talents of young Indonesian filmmakers to give the best work that is full of meaning to enjoy.

"The short film competition is a "short cut" to get recognition faster. Show your best talent & be part of the journey towards success in the film industry. Dare to take steps forward, collaborate, and work with enthusiasm as agents of change in the short film industry," said Anjas.

In addition, one of the art activists who is also a teacher at the Jakarta Arts Institute, namely Dedih Fajar Nur Paksi, really appreciates that Indodax consistently holds short film competitions until the fifth year of the implementation and the theme Unbounded' is the right choice because of course this theme is open to anyone who wants to be involved.

"For me, starting from a short film, make this opportunity for the short film makers & of course for the film community out there to show their best work. My personal hope with this competition can be an opening for Indonesian filmmakers to be more active and dare to make inspiring works, in order to next advance to higher festivals, such as the Indonesian Film Festival for example," added Dedih.

In line with Dedih, Yani Gondrong, from the Indonesian Community Network (IFCN) community also welcomed ISFF this year. According to him, the terms and conditions of the competition are very much easier than the previous year.

"This is the right time, for filmmakers to show off their work, because there are not many short film festivals in Indonesia at this time. There are opportunities, what are you waiting for?" said Yani.
