Hutama Karya Completes Functional Feasibility Test On Stabat-Kuala Bingai Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has completed a Functional Feasibility Test (ULF) on one of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) network sections.

ULF is carried out on the Binjai-Langsa section of the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road, the 7 km Stabat-Kuala Bingai segment. This activity is carried out for two days, from Monday (10/7) to Tuesday (11/7).

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Tjahjo Purnomo said the ULF aims to ensure that all technical specifications and equipment facilities are met.

"In an effort to accelerate the operation of toll roads, ULF is carried out in the Stabat-Kuala Bingai toll road segment and also the Kuala Bingai toll gate to ensure that everything is in accordance with the standards, both in terms of traffic safety and the quality of the toll road itself," said Tjahjo in his official statement, quoted Thursday, July 13.

Tjahjo said the ULF had been carried out by a team divided into 3 sub teams. Sub Team 1 comes from the Road Traffic Safety and Management Sector, Sub Team 2 for Road Facilities, Bridges and Buildings Complete, and Sub Team 3 in the Field of Operations and Administration.

The implementation of this specification test was carried out with a number of parties such as the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Korlantas Polri, KKJ Bintek, PJBH, North Sumatra BBPJN Sub-Directorate for Land Procurement.

The inspection scope in this toll segment is divided into 2 lanes, namely Line A and B. Line A includes Ramp Stabat, Sta. 11 + 800-STA. 19 + 350 and Off Ramp Kuala Bingai. Meanwhile, Line B includes On Ramp Kuala Bingai, Sta. 19 + 350-STA. 0 + 000 and Ramp 4 Stabat.

After the series of specification tests are carried out, discussions will be carried out regarding the results of the tests from each inspection team at the Plenary Meeting on Examination Results.

The Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan toll road with a total length of 58 km itself consists of 3 sections, with details of section 1 Binjai-Stabat (12.3 km) which has been operated in February 2022, section 2 Stabat-Tanjung Pura (26.2 km), and section 3 Tanjung Pura-Brandan along 18.9 km.

As for the end of June, the accumulation of construction progress from the two Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan toll road sections has reached 80 percent with land acquisition which continues to progress to reach 96 percent.

For your information, the construction of the Stabat-Kuala Bingai toll road segment is part of the construction of the section 2 Stabat-Tanjung Pura toll road with a length of 26.2 km.

In full, the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road has a planned speed of 100 km/h with an initial number of lanes of 2x2. If completed overall, this toll road will cut the travel time from the previous 2 hours to approximately 1 hour.

Hutama Karya equipped this toll road with a number of structural facilities such as, 2 overpasses, 11 bridges, 10 underpasses, 3 interchanges, 3 toll gates, and 2 pairs of rest areas type A.

Until now, the construction of the Phase I Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) by Hutama Karya is 10-1057 km long, with the construction toll road of 349 km and the operation toll road of 453 km.

The sections that have been fully operational are managed by Hutama Karya, namely the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Toll Road (189 km), Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road (22 km), Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road (131 km), Sigli Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 2-6 (50 km), Binjai-Langsa Section 1 (12 km) Toll Road, Bengkulu-Taba Penjung (18 km) Toll Road, and Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road (31 km).
