JAKARTA PT Angkasa Pura I or AP I has started implementing the latest air travel health protocol (prokes) rules. Now, airplane passengers at 15 airports managed by AP I may not wear masks.

This latest rule adpaun refers to the Circular (SE) of the Ministry of Transportation Number SE 16 of 2023 concerning Health Protocols for Travelers of People by Air Transportation During the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Transition Period.

The SE of the Ministry of Transportation is a derivative of the Circular of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Number 1 of 2023 concerning Health Protocols During the 2019 Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Transition Period.

Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura I Rahadian D Yogisworo said Angkasa Pura I is ready to support and implement the latest travel rules contained in the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 16 of 2023 simultaneously at 15 airports managed.

"We also welcome this very positively, with the spirit of transition to endemic," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, June 13.

The enactment of SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 16 of 2023 also revokes the validity period of three Circulars governing air travel regulations, namely SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 13 of 2020, SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 82 of 2022, and SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 88 of 2022.

"With the enactment of the new air travel rules for PPDN and PPLN, we are optimistic that it will be able to have positive implications for traffic growth, of course, while still paying attention to the implementation of health protocols while at the airport and on the way," he said.

In SE Kemenhub Number 16 of 2023, domestic travelers (PPDN) and foreign travelers (PPLN) are advised to continue to vaccinate against COVID-19 until the second booster or fourth dose, especially for people who have a high risk of COVID-19 transmission.

PPDN and PPLN are also allowed not to wear masks if they are healthy and do not risk contracting or transmitting COVID-19.

As for PPDN and PPLN who are in unhealthy condition or at risk of COVID-19, it is recommended to continue wearing masks.

SE Kemenhub Number 16 of 2023 also contains recommendations to continue using the ONESEHAT application to monitor personal health, as well as recommendations to continue to carry out physical distancing or avoid crowds to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
